Education

A local high school was influenced by a recent spike in incidents of civil disturbance within school grounds and the surrounding neighborhood to expand its existing CCTV security system. NITEK partnered with the contracted system integrator and the school board to design a cost effective solution that would meet current demands as well as provide an easy pathway to future technology. The school IT department understood the benefits of analog video over Cat5e & Cat6 cable and expressed a desire to migrate to an IP based system in the near future as the cost of this emerging technology decreases.

Traffic

Many large cities today are faced with additional needs for securing the public safety. Mass transit is an area of concern because of the many hours of operation, day and night. When the challenge was presented to offer solutions for their CCTV requirements that included an infrastructure supportive of future technologies and reaching distances in excess 6000 feet, Nitek provided the cost effective solutions.

Today, casinos have more vigorous regulations for video quality that demands an environment for technology that can utilize megapixel cameras for those critical areas and analog cameras for the remote areas. The casino was looking for a solution that could take advantage of the same structured wire, Cat5e or Cat6, for their CCTV projects that is currently used with their telephone and data networks. At the same time, the solution required the flexibility of installing equipment in the many closets that will provide all needed signals for analog and megapixel cameras.

Retail

A large security system integrator who specializes in the retail and fast food sector was awarded a multi-year national accounts contract with two nationwide retailers. NITEK worked in unison with the system integrator to implement a twisted pair CCTV solution. Previously, coax had been the bedrock of all their previous installs. However, with the onset of IP, both customers expressed desire to eventually implement this emerging technology, as well as a desire to separate themselves from their competitors, and NITEK ingenuity brought them to the forefront.

Government

The construction of several new administrative and personnel dormitories at a government installation led to the need for a new CCTV system. The new system was required to be fully integrated into their existing network. Additionally, several new entry control points were established. These would also require video camera coverage. NITEK worked with a security consultant to design the best solution for their current needs and one that could be expanded and, if needed, service with minimal effort or system wide disruption.

Medical

NITEK was instrumental in the upgrade of a legacy security system that incorporated the use of existing Cat6 within several buildings (adult patient, child care, research, and administrative) as well as an existing fiber backbone interconnection between these various buildings and a multi-story parking structure. The hospital and the security integrator chose NITEK transmission solutions based on our unique ability to support both analog (power, video, & PTZ data) and emerging IP (PoE) video technologies simultaneously along with the operational versatility that our fiber solutions afforded.
